With not much money except for the $20 my dad taped underneath my dash for emergencies, I left home five years ago with my 1985 Barina, two surfboards and a few other survival items. These things were petty much my total assets however, I was completely debt free.
Now five years later I owe $30,000 thanks to a personal loan, a tax bill and an out of control credit card. Worse still I had no idea of where my money was going. All contributing factors to my dismal financial position.
Then at Christmas last year my mum gave me a book by Greg Smith called How to Stop Living from pay to pay and I spent all Christmas Day reading it. Once the New Year came around I contacted the author and booked in for his Lifestyle Money Coach. This was one of the most amazing things I had ever done. Greg introduced me to a whole new way of looking at my money. Not from a "greedy got to make a million dollars perspective" but more from a "hey mate we need to get stuck into some real basics" sort of angle.
I got to the homework I had to do to prepare for the session was you could say an eye opener. But not as much an eye opener as the one on one session with Greg. He made me realize that I was totally ignoring my money problems and as a result they were just getting worse and basically I was not getting anywhere. He explained things in such an easy way that I didn't feel dumb or embarrassed.
Today, 8 months later, I still have debt (he doesn't have a magic want unfortunately!), but it's going - fast! I know exactly how much I owe - and who I owe. No more do I have financial institutions calling me chasing late payments and threatening me with late fees. I spend smart, I think smart.
I can tell you having your finances sorted has a flow on effect. I have increased my earnings from an average of $600.00 to $1,000.00 per week. Why? Because my head is clear and I can give more focus at work. I really now enjoy the week to week process, without the living from pay to pay.
Freedom is a precious commodity, and that is exactly what a money coach can help you achieve.
Yours sincerely,
